Advanced Placement Exams at SCC

Students need the following with them on the test dates:
- three sharpened no. 2 pencils with erasers for all multiple-choice answer sheets
- two or three black or dark-blue ballpoint pens for free-response questions in most exams
- secondary school code number (330-431)
- social security number
- a watch (the student is responsible for pacing him/herself during the exam)
- AP-authorized calculator for Calculus, Chemistry, and Physics (calculators may not be shared)
- rulers or straightedges for the Physics exam
DO NOT BRING:
Books, scratch paper, watches that have beeps or alarms, cell phones, beepers, PDAs, food, or drink.
Students taking tests in the morning are to report to homeroom by 8:15 to check in and then report to their testin room. Students are excused from classes during the examination time period and a lunch period, if necessary. As a courtesy, students should notify teachers ahead of time as to when they will be taking A.P. examinations.
Note: afternoon exams may not end until 3:30 pm. Students taking afternoon exams please make transportation adjustments as needed and arrangements for after-school activities.
Advanced Placement Exams will be held during the beginning of May. Students have been asked to sign up for testing with their respective teachers. The fee is $86.00 per examination and is due on Friday, April 3rd. Students who do not take an exam that has been ordered for them will be assessed the fee that is charged for each unused exam. Fee reductions from the College Board and New York State are available for families with documented financial need. Have your students see his/her teacher or some to the Guidance Office with any questions.
