Open from 8:00 am to at least 3:30 pm, the SCCHS Library offers students a quiet place to read, study, and do research throughout the school day. Students who wish to visit the library during the school day may do so before homeroom, from study hall, from lunch, and from class (with a pass from their teacher). From 3:00 to 4:15 pm, the Library and Saintly Grounds Cafe offer a relaxed atmosphere where students can chat, read, work online, and partake of home-baked goodies, brewed coffee, and other offerings.
The library collection has around 10,000 volumes, of which about 200 are new each year. Our holdings are included in the BOCES Union Catalog on the web. (Note: Catalog is for all South Central BOCES schools. We can borrow the items with the "BDT" prefix; that is, in Broome-Delaware-Tioga Boces.) Note that the information in the BOCES catalog is not as up-to-date as what we have in our local catalog available at school on the library computers. Our circulation policies are listed on a separate webpage.
We have a small library network (5 user desktops, 10 laptops) which provides access to various research databases (see below), the libary catalog, word processing and other office suite programs, and graphics manipulation tools. Students are able to save work to their "My Documents" space on the school network, and may also read from CDs and save to floppy disks and usb drives.
Please check with librarian for user ids and passwords.
