LOCATION / AFFILIATION
Seton Catholic Central High School is located at 70 Seminary Avenue in Binghamton, New York. (map). Seton is a member of the Catholic Schools of Broome County educational experience. This system is part of the Diocese of Syracuse.

ACCREDITATION
Seton Catholic Central High School is chartered by the New York State Board of Regents and is a member of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. Our principal, Ms. Dwyer, is a member of both the National Association of Secondary School Principals, and the Catholic School Administrators Association of New York State.

ADMISSIONS INFORMATION
The placement examination is a standardized tool used for course placement at SCCHS. Incoming 9th graders in our Catholic school system take this exam.

If you are new to the Binghamton area or the Broome County Catholic Schools system, you must send a copy of your child's most recent report card, transcripts, and standardized test scores to our Guidance Office. After receipt of these materials, arrangements may be made for a school tour, an interview, and a "shadowing day". BOOKSTORE
Our school bookstore is run by Mrs. Reichlen. The store is open every day both before and after school. School supplies, snacks, Seton souvenirs and clothing, calculators, and books are all available in the bookstore. Price lists for class books and Seton specialty items are available on the Bookstore page.

CODE OF CONDUCT
Spiritual unity is evident in the celebration of the Eucharist. The SCCHS community pray together at the start of each day, in classes, on retreats, and in the school chapel. These activities promote an attitude of respect and concern for one another. SCCHS strives to create an environment that is structured and conducive to learning. Our rules are based on Christian values and beliefs. The rules are established to protect the academic and philosophical mission of Seton Catholic Central High School and, therefore, must be obeyed and supported.

There are nine 42-minute periods each day. The lunch period is 30 minutes in length.

DEANS, COUNSELORS, MODERATORS, AND HOMEROOM TEACHERS
There are many faculty members who do double and triple duty, but the SCCHS faculty go way above and beyond the call of duty!! Most serve as club or organization moderators, four serve as Class Moderators, and four serve as Class Deans.

DRESS CODE
SCCHS views the dress code as an integral part of the disciplinary training. A personal sense of pride and worth are key to success at SCC. The dress code is in effect throughout the day. A complete description of the dress code is in the student handbook, but overall we expect our students to be dressed neatly and modestly.

Grades 9-12, aprox. 400 students

FACULTY AND STAFF
Both religious and lay people compose our full and part-time staff. All of our faculty have Bachelors Degrees; the predominant number have Masters Degrees or above and are New York State certified in their academic areas.

The Catholic-based learning environment at Seton Catholic Central High School is inspired by our ever-present teacher, Jesus Christ. Our students are encouraged to develop a love of learning, which will serve them throughout their lives. Our mission is tot meet each student's needs - spiritual, academic and emotional - through a fiscally responsible program that recognizes the importance of stewardship in all its forms.

SAINTLY GROUNDS CAFE
The Saintly Grounds Cafe offers a variety of beverages and snacks in a relaxed setting. Saintly Grounds is open from 3:00 to 4:15 PM each school day, during dances, and at other special events.

TRANSPORTATION
All area public school districts in New York and Pennsylvania provide transportation to SCCHS. Bus passes are issued at Binghamton High School for those students riding our local public transportation system.

TUITION AND TUITION ASSISTANCE
Tuition at Seton Catholic Central H.S. for 2007-2008 is $5,150 for the first child if the student's family is affiliated with a local parish, and $5,650 if non-affiliated. (Second and third students from the same family get a price break.) There are three tuition payment option available, along with tuition assistance in the form of scholarships.
