What Is SCRIP?
Scrip is a term that means "substitute money". When you purchase SCRIP, you're purchasing negotiable gift certificates and prepaid cards to use just like cash. These cards and certificates look JUST like the ones you would buy in these stores, but you can save yourself the drive and buy them through the school. You will want to use SCRIP to purchase everyday items like food, clothing, gifts, and other essentials, because with every card you purchase you earn revenue for the SCC Parents Club, which is eventually returned to you to lower your tuition!
You don't have to sell anything! However, you can get orders from family, friends, and co-workers. You generate revenue by using SCRIP instead of money or credit cards to eat out or for household purchases you would make anyway. Also, you get dollar for dollar what you purchase. If you want a $25 gift card, you pay $25 for it! There are no extra hidden costs!
How does the SCRIP Program generate revenue?
You order gift cards and certificates through the school and pay full face value for them. The school is able to buy them from Aero's Gymnastics, Video King, Lands' End, Little Venice, and Great Lakes Scrip Center at a discount. The discount varies from 2% to 25% percent, and is our revenue. Unfortunately, because of our limited Parents Club funds, we can only purchase what you order, so we rarely have SCRIP on-hand to sell.
What does the SCC Parents Club do with the revenue?
We give it back to you!!! We keep track of the revenue you generate from SCRIP purchases during the 2007-2008 school year and offer it back to you at the end of the year as a tuition credit for your child for the following school year (2008-2009). The amount offered is equal to the amount generated by orders placed in your family's name and is subtracted right off your tuition bill!
How do I order Scrip?
Included each SCC newsletter, you will receive a SCRIP form for the next order. Please have the orders with payment in the SCC office by noon on the due date. The rest is up to me! Your SCRIP order is returned to you at school within 10 days. The order due dates for the 2007-2008 school year are:

Please note: The vendors listed on our order form are those available in our area. Many other retailers from across the country offer SCRIP. If you would like to order SCRIP not listed on our form, go to www.glscrip.com for a complete list. Use the blank lines on the back of the SCRIP form to fill in information for retailers not our list. Retailers (and their profits) on the SCRIP list are subject to change at any time and without notice. Bonus discounts are common during holidays and back-to-school times! If a retailer you have ordered becomes unavailable, you will be notified.
